We are at a rare time in history where a confluence of factors create opportunities for effecting radical change. Developed nations are in a state of flux, and it is unclear where they will settle, philosophically, politically, and economically. Certainly it is a day when competing ideologies are at the fore. The contention of this book is that we need to think about impacting cities and nations differently. The three traditional approaches have not worked: evangelism, defeatism, or dominionism. We need a better way. Transforming Society aims to equally cut through the despair and the hot air surrounding "discipling nations" and provide a practical approach, tried leadership and tested tools for making a better world. As I reread the manuscript on this 2nd Edition I wondered whether the sub-title should not read “A handbook for societal revolutionaries and reformers”? Despite the somewhat tame “framework for fixing a broken world” language, I trust this book will spark a passion, provide frameworks and motivate positive participation with God in his work in the world today. I still have lots still to learn on this journey. Will you journey with me?
